British Apple Pie


On a lovely cool day like today a little comfort food is always welcome. This recipe is from my Mum who always had a special treat waiting for us at the end of every day. One of my favorites was this “pie” served warm with heavy cream poured over top. I shall give you the recipe as written:
Beat together 1 egg and 3/4 cup of sugar until fluffy. Add in 1.2 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add 1 cup chopped apples and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Pour into buttered pie dish. Bake 25 minutes at 350. Serve warm with cream or ice cream. Yum yum.
